The Media Center had a wonderful time last week creating a commercial with some young talent from our area. The commercial is airing on local news channels throughout the Tri-State area. Needless to say, Cute/Talented Kids make for GREAT Video Production Shoots and Commercials! We had fun working with them and they seemed to enjoy themselves as well. TimberTrek Aerial Adventure Park Opens - The Newest Adventures on the Gorge Park!

May 3, 2012 Ames Heights, WV – The Media Center provided live satellite news/media coverage out of Ames Heights, WV for the newest Adventures on the Gorge Park, TimberTrek's grand opening! TimberTrek is taking aerial adventures to new levels this summer. The new recreation system, designed to be fun for children as young as seven years of age, has five courses of varying difficulties. Set about 10 - 70 feet in the air, the courses are rated like ski slopes – from easy to difficult – and include challenging obstacles, bridges, swings and zip lines.

West Virginia Alliance For Sustainable Families Helps Put Money In The Hands Of Working Families From The IRS And That Is No April Fools!

March 30, 2012 - At the American Red Cross in Cross Lanes, WV, The Media Center provided live news coverage for the West Virginia Alliance for Sustainable Families (WVASF), who's celebrating April Fools day this Sunday by not fooling anyone and letting everyone know that the IRS has money to refund eligible taxpayers, no fooling! West Virginia Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is what it is all about. There are Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites throughout West Virginia to help for free file returns and answer questions about EITC eligibility.

WV High School Football Standout Commits to UNC Tar Heels

In front of his Charleston, WV High School, he gave a verbal commitment to play for the University of North Carolina (Tar Heels) in the Atlantic Coast Conference and Coach Larry Fedora.

Change the Future WV Two-Year Anniversary Event

March 28, 2012 - The Media Center provided live news and interview coverage via-satellite in Parkersburg, WV for the “Change the Future WV” that hosted a Two-Year Anniversary Event from noon until 1:30 p.m. today at Parkersburg Country Club. The event was free and open to the public, highlighted successes of the initiative over the past two years and included discussions of how the program has made a positive impact on the health of Mid-Ohio Valley communities since its beginning and now being started in other regions of the state.

YWCA Video Production for March 9 Gala

On Saturday March 3, The Media Center had a video production shoot for the YWCA at our in house Studio. We are putting together a video production for the YWCA’s 100 Years of Service Anniversary. It will be showcased at the “2012 Women of Achievement” Gala, March 9, from Noon-1:30pm at the Embassy Suites in Charleston, WV. The Event is held to honor Women of Achievement and YWCA’s Leading Change For 100 Years.

Governor Tomblin's Prescription Drug Abuse Bill Wins Senate Approval

The Media Center has an update of Governor Tomblin's Prescription Drug Abuse Bill. On Wednesday February 28, 2012, state senators voted unanimously in a (34-0) vote to approve Tomblin's Anti-Drug Bill. While the bill doesn't cover everything, it's definitely a step in the right direction for our state.
