On Saturday March 3, The Media Center had a video production shoot for the YWCA at our in house Studio. We are putting together a video production for the YWCA’s 100 Years of Service Anniversary. It will be showcased at the “2012 Women of Achievement” Gala, March 9, from Noon-1:30pm at the Embassy Suites in Charleston, WV. The Event is held to honor Women of Achievement and YWCA’s Leading Change For 100 Years. The YWCA was founded in 1912. It created a home of it’s own in 1922, and continued to grow in the 1940’s, 50’s, 60’s, and still today. By eliminating racism and empowering women, the YWCA creates peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people. Through the YWCA programs, facilities, and services, they assist more than 10,000 individuals each year in the Tri-County area. They provide shelter, case management, counseling, education, job training, and childcare, all while fostering independence in all their clients. Here’s to the YWCA of Charleston WV, Leading Change For 100 Years!

Take a look below at the video production that will be showcased at the Gala, provided by The Media Center. From finding the perfect costumes to getting an actress to portray a woman from the early 1900's era, the video will cover the history and importance of the YWCA’s role in women’s lives throughout the last 100 years.
