This year’s West Virginia Coal Forum was held at the Marriott in Charleston, WV, Wednesday, August 10 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The West Virginia Coal Forum conducted a forum to discuss the potential state impact of air quality rules being implemented by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This conversation featured UMWA President Cecil Roberts, representatives of West Virginia’s Congressional Delegation, leaders of the State Legislature, representatives of coal industry, experts in environmental & energy policy and leaders in the electrical industry.

Today The Meida Center uplinked Senator Joe Manchin for an interview on The Fox News Channel. The interview took place at George Washington High School in Charleston, WV. Following interview Senator Manchin gave a surprise visit to the GW Volleyball team who were holding their first practice of the season.
Charleston, WV – With most schools across West Virginia opening this month, the West Virginia Immunization Network (WIN) and state health officials are urging parents to ensure that their children, particularly if they are entering the seventh-grade, are properly immunized. Nationally, West Virginia immunization rates are lower for the two important vaccinations – Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) and MCV (meningococcal/meningitis).

Charleston, WV – It’s National Farmer’s Market week and farmers’ markets are in full swing throughout West Virginia - providing retail outlets for local growers and greenhouse operators, as well as creating community-oriented shopping alternatives for consumers. To celebrate the West Virginia Department of Agriculture did a corn roast on the grounds of the state capitol and a Farmer’s Market was be set up.

The WV Chamber came to The Media Center with a bit of a quandary. How do you illustrate the uneven distribution of WV delegates, compare that to the rest of the United States where all but one other state has even distribution of delegates, explain that nine counties don't have a delegate, point out that if this isn't changed now then it'll be 10 years before the issues can be revisited and give a call to action all in an attention grabbing 30 seconds?

On a cold night in April, The Media Center assemblies a crew to film a thought-provoking PSA for the Click It or Ticket campaign.
