11th Annual West Virginia Small Farm Conference

The annual event draws farmers, youth and industry together for an opportunity to learn and share new and innovative production and marketing techniques that translate into increased economic impact for the state’s blossoming agricultural community. The conference continues through Saturday.

Starting back in August, and The Media Center teamed up to bring HD, broadcast quality High School football right to people's home via live web streaming. In the early 20th century the Arrow Clothing Company revolutionized magazine advertisements by creating a character commonly referred to as the "Arrow Collar Man". The character was created by illustrator J. C. Leyendecker as a suave, cosmopolitan gentleman that in many respects was the urban response to the tough and rowdy image of manliness at the time. Leyendecker's illustrations showed you could be well kept, sophisticated and still be masculine, provided of course your clothing came from the Arrow Clothing Company...

The cool thing is, the "ads" mentioned are mostly social media events or ideas outside the conventional 30 second TV spots. For example, you've got The Lego Movie....

2014 U.S. Senate Debate

AARP West Virginia and the West Virginia Press Association (WVPA), in partnership with West Virginia Public Broadcasting and the MetroNews Radio Network, hosted the 2014 United States Senate Debate on Tuesday, October 7 between West Virginia candidates Secretary of State Natalie Tennant (D) and Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R) at the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia in Charleston, WV.

Bon Appetit Appalachia

On Tuesday, July 15, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin joined Appalachian Regional Commission Federal Co-Chairman Earl F. Gohl in announcing the nationwide premier of the Bon Appétit Appalachia culinary map-guide. The announcement capped events at Capitol Market in Charleston designed to recognize and promote food growers and producers unique to Appalachia. The guide recently debuted as an insert in the summer issue of Food Traveler magazine.

North-South Football 2014

"Under these lights, there's nothing better than playing the North-South Game," says Eric Banks of Wheeling Park High School. Well, the only thing that might be better than playing the game is watching the game.

The 2014 West Virginia Athletic Coaches Association’s WCHS-TV/FOX-11 North-South Football Classic kicked off at 7pm on Saturday, June 21 at University of Charleston Stadium/Laidley Field in Charleston. RNR Sports' cameras were there to capture all of the excitement!
