Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and officials with the West Virginia Ski Areas Association announced that January was officially Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month in the mountain state. By proclamation released at a news conference held at the state capitol, West Virginia joined the national program that includes ski-industry states in North America. West Virginia Ski Resorts teach thousands of first-time skiers every season and new skier and snowboard lessons have increased so far this season.

This year The Media Center made a huge investment in new production equipment to better serve our clients and the region. We've purchased new cameras with studio configurations, thousands of feet of cable, video switchers, encoders, amplifiers, distributors, recorders and all of the little cases, bags and devices that make the whole thing mobile. What it amounts to is a fully digital, HD, mobile studio production that we can record, put up on a satellite or stream to the internet.
November 14, 2012, at Piedmont Elementary School in Charleston, WV – The Media Center helped The Manahan Group, and State Treasurer, John Perdue, spread awareness of the New Program being offered by WV's Smart529 College Savings Fund. The program is making some changes that will make it easier for parents and grandparents to save for their children and grandchildren's college education.
