October 26th, 2012, Charleston, WV – The Media Center provided live satellite news/media coverage along with live interviews with persons connected to Create WV, to get the word out to several local news stations via-satellite, about the Fifth Create West Virginia Conference. A crowdfunder from Miami and a New York City documentary filmmaker joined scores of West Virginia’s economic, education, and community innovators, October 26th at the Charleston House Ramada, and 27th at the Charleston Civic Center for the Fifth Create WV Conference 2012.
October 20, 2012 - The Media Center provided live action coverage on the jumbo screen (pictured below) set up on the south end of the bridge, and streaming live on the internet as the jumpers leap 876 feet off the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, WV. 2012 marks the 33rd Anniversary for the New River Gorge Bridge Day, presented by Subaru.
CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Broadcasters Association (WVBA) hosted the 2012 WVBA Gubernatorial Debate, 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 9 between Democratic incumbent Earl Ray Tomblin and Republican candidate Bill Maloney. The event originated from the Bessie & Rome H. Walker Memorial Theater (Walker Theater), Clay Center for the Arts and Science, Charleston, and be sponsored in part by AARP West Virginia. The debate aired live across the state on both television and radio stations, and was designed to informed voters to make a choice and vote on Tuesday, November 6.
August 29th through August 31st, more than 600 people were in White Sulphur Springs at The Greenbrier resort for the 2012 West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 76th Annual Meeting and Business Summit. The Media Center was very proud to provide live streaming coverage online so that anyone could view and be a part of this special conference that hundreds of West Virginia’s business, community, and government leaders participated in, and is a tradition that has now spanned more than seven decades.
July 27, 2012 - The Media Center was in Whitesville, W.Va. providing live satellite news/media coverage for the Dedication of the Upper Big Branch Miner's Memorial at the Unveiling Ceremony.
The focal point of the Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial has been installed at the memorial plaza in Whitesville, WV, and the monument was covered until the official dedication Friday, July 27th when it was unveiled during a public ceremony at approximately 2:00pm.
July 18, 2012 - The Media Center was in Whitesville, WV providing live satellite coverage of the Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial Monument being installed at the town's memorial plaza. After the installation is complete, the monument will be officially dedicated on Friday, July 27.
